Google AI -Feb 2023

The astrology of Google's AI announcement February 2023

There was a second bit of drama this week and it related to one of the market favourites, Alphabet (Google).

About 10 percent of Alphabet's market value – some $120 billion – was wiped out this week after Google proudly presented Bard, its answer to Microsoft's next-gen AI offerings and chatGPT, and the system bungled a simple question. The system appears to have claimed that Nasa’s James Webb Space Telescope took the first image of an exoplanet – but the first such image was actually taken in 2003, by the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope.

The market was disappointed. Indeed it remains so as the shares have not recovered yet.

We’ll be looking more at AI as we consider Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries and Uranus in Gemini but for now we’ll stick to the comedy at hand.

The first announcement was on 7th but the presentation was at 8.30am EST on February 8th. And at 9.30 opening the above happened.

Here is the chart for the announcement.

We see that transiting Neptune is conjunct the transiting Ascendant and opposite the Google IPO Jupiter. Big error has consequences for share value. A sextile to the Google Saturn did not help either.

An hour later that Ascendant has moved to 20 degrees of Aries where is activated the progressed Moon opposite Pluto and the transiting Moon at 20 Virgo. Even the transiting Sun is at 19 degrees. The Ascendant is also square the chart Chiron. I don’t mention it often in financial matters but it almost certainly does have something to do with artificial life/intelligence.

At the same time, the transiting MC was opposite the Google Venus and square its Moon highlighting investors view of stock value.

While we don’t see quite the price drama we did with BBBY, we note that Uranus has been sextile the progressed Sun and will move to trine progressed Mars and oppose the progressed Ascendant. This suggests to me more uncertainty and volatility over the issue is coming.   Note that the IPO chart already ties the two planets together in an opposition so it can integrate them but it will also be sensitive to the transits.

There are broader elements at play anyway. Saturn is opposite the Chart’s Sun and progressed Mercury. Pluto is quincunx the progressed MC and this week  Mercury has been activating this configuration. I suspect that the AI challenge is going to be an ongoing issue.

Pluto will shortly change signs and then oppose the Google IPO progressed Venus and that is not positive for values. Either this issue or another one will create future pressures.
