The astrology of the attacks in Israel in October 2023
I don’t wish to spend too much time on the situation in Israel. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.
But I looked at the chart only 6 months ago, when discussing the Israel government situation.
Then I concluded by saying “my forecast made in 2020 does not see resolution during 2023. Multiple changes of leader could be possible, as could actual fighting between factions. Bear in mind that the April 2024 Jupiter Uranus conjunction is close to the Israeli Sun. That is the antithesis of stable government.”
My focus then was on the government but the conditions apply to any conflict situation. My 2023 forecast was in fact broader and included reference to the Palestinian situation both in late 2023 and in 2024.
However, for the sake of our astrological understanding, it is still worth a quick look at exactly what the position was this weekend.
The beginnings of the Hamas attack are variously reported as 6.30 or 6.35 am. I am sing the latter
Even without reference to the Israel foundation chart we see transiting Pluto is opposite the transiting Midheaven at the start of the attack. It forms a square with transiting Mars and the Nodes. A more apt summary of the situation could not be expected. Transiting Venus is sextile the Mars.
Turning to the Israel chart itself, Mars is in fact only 3 degrees away from the Israeli Ascendant. This means that the major square described picks up that Ascendant.
But not just the Ascendant. In the Israel chart, its natal Mars is at 28 Leo, the progressed Venus Uranus conjunction at 27-28 Gemini and the conjunction of the Israeli Jupiter with the progressed Ascendant at 27-28 Sagittarius.
That represents a huge chunk of the chart being pulled into this event.
It is also worth mentioning that the Venus with Uranus here has associations with Islamic terrorism generally. The fact that it now appears on the progressed Descendant is definitely indicative of direct conflict.
It was the activation of the Uranus, together with the simultaneous conjunction of transiting Uranus with the Israel Sun and square its progressed Saturn that led me to expect instability.
One further point to note is that the progressed Moon is in the 7th house of open enemies and is currently square the MC/IC axis. Unfortunately the ruler of the 7th is Mars and the progressed Mars will spend many years in the 12th house of hidden enemies. Not a good combination for unexpected attacks.
We also see that Jupiter is square the Israel Pluto and nodes- a square that is mirrored by the transiting one. This has a very fated quality to it.
As I mentioned in my earlier 2023 post, 2023 situations are unlikely to resolve themselves quickly and Uranus Jupiter conjunct the Israel Sun square Saturn now looks not just like serious instability but very ominous. Particularly when we realise that Pluto will soon move forward almost to the Israel MC/IC axis by next May. That that is only a hint that Pluto will cross this axis more than once in the coming few years should make us aware that continued challenges are on the cards.
